Kumho Tire will supply Ecsta HS52 tires for the vehicles available in EMEA, Asia and Australia.

 

ATLANTA, GEORGIA, (November 18, 2024) – Kumho Tire U.S.A., one of the world’s leading tire manufacturers, has announced the supply of Ecsta HS52 tires as original equipment (OE) for Volkswagen Group, for two popular vehicle models: the Volkswagen Passat and the Škoda Superb, in size 215/60R16. The vehicles will be available in EMEA, Asia and Australia.

 

Volkswagen and Škoda, both part of the Volkswagen Group, are highly respected automakers with a global presence. The Volkswagen Passat, a best-selling mid-sized sedan, has sold over 30 million units. The Škoda Superb is the flagship sedan for the Czech brand, known for its combination of elegant design, impressive performance, and premium features that have earned it a strong following in the mid-size luxury segment.

 

The Ecsta HS52 tire was specifically chosen for these models due to its excellent performance and comfort characteristics. Engineered to deliver a comfortable, stable ride, the Ecsta HS52 tire features a tread pattern that helps reduce road noise and vibrations while maintaining excellent traction to result in a quieter, more comfortable driving experience, whether on city streets or highways.

 

Earlier this year, the Ecsta HS52 tire received high marks in summer tire tests conducted by two of Europe's most trusted automotive publications, ADAC Motorwelt and Auto Bild. It ranked third (Grade: Good) in ADAC Motorwelt’s tire performance test and fourth (Grade: Good) in Auto Bild's test—making it the highest-rated tire among all Korean brands tested.
