SEMA Recap 11/06/2023

11/06/2023

The SEMA Show is the premier trade-only event for automotive specialty equipment manufacturers and automotive manufacturers to debut new, innovative products, and connect with industry buyers from all over the world. The four-day event consistently attracts more than 161,000 individuals and 2,400 exhibiting companies. After many years, Kumho Tire has returned to the SEMA Show and brought an amazing light truck lineup with a mix of incredible technology and bold aesthetics.

Kumho Tire’s booth this year drew upon the dual-use, on-road/off-road, philosophy of the latest product in their light truck lineup, the Road Venture AT52, with a “split design” crossing over the worlds of off-road lifestyle and on-highway adventure. The light truck product lineup was completed with the Road Venture MT71 mud-terrain tire, and the Crugen HT51 highway all-season tire lines. Kumho also teased the upcoming Road Venture RT51, a Rugged-Terrain tire that bridges the gap between the AT52 and MT71, which will be available in early 2025 with 27 sizes ranging from 17” to 22” rim diameters.

The booth design showed the attendees the many ways you can take your vehicle on and off-road utilizing the tire's capabilities on vehicles that showcased the everyday use of each terrain. The Road Venture AT52 was featured on a unique overland Porsche Cayenne with a 50/50 split wrap to further blend into the booth scenery. As for the Crugen HT51, the tires were mounted on a Ford F250 Tremor as a bold statement about the tire’s heavy-duty highway focused design.

The Road Venture MT71 stole the spotlight when featured on Kumho’s giveaway sweepstakes grand prize, a brand new 2024 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with over $30,000 worth of off-road upgrades from wheels and suspension to rugged bumpers and a carbon fiber hood. From October 25th to November 4th, 2,678 people entered the raffle and one lucky winner went home with a brand new Jeep. In addition to the giveaway grand prize, 3 sets of tires were raffled off each day to attendees of the SEMA Show with 3,320 total entries.

As one of the world's largest tire manufacturers, Kumho Tire has more than 60 years of history immersed in an innovative approach to product development, market expansion, technical progression, and environmental awareness.
